I made the mistake of ordering the carb when I originally planed on running the motor in stock form. So I'm stuck with it for the moment and will just put it on the wife's bbf 78 bronco after fire up and a little run time. Now that I've stepped up so much I'm thinking a 1050 dominator might be a...
Pops is coming over this weekend cause this is a father son project and were gonna bang out the most important details. Gotta degree the cam, check piston to valve clearance and check for pushrod length. Then hopefully we can start assembly and get this thing buttoned up. All the specialty...
My awesome wife picked up the heads for me. Now I'm just waiting on the pushrod length checker tool and degree wheel and bigger oil pan. So I can check everything and start assembly!
True! Local buider got the heads done in a hurry, picking them up tomorrow and am stoked to start assembling what I hope will be 600hp beast! I also verified for sure I've got the forged goods in the bottom end!
Already dropped the pan to inspect and get ready for all the new parts. Found the casting number and what appears to be the good dimple rods with 7/16 bolts! Could this have come with a hv oil pump and deeper pan too?
Picked this crate motor up a while back. Its all forged internals the number on the crate was 366250. Anyone know more specific info on it. Any idea how much power the stock forged internals can handle? Any idea where I'd find the casting number on the crank to know for sure if its forged or any...
Yeah, after he setup my heads for the springs. He wanted to check for pushrod length. Which is kinda how this started spiraling and snowballing. I figure why put all this time and money into the stock iron castings if I can shed 100lbs and make more power with aluminum and hopefully even recoup...
Definitely and I will ask the builder what push rods. Project is snowballing quickly! Decided to sell the stock iron heads and go with a set of aluminum ones.
I was finally able to start collecting and buying parts to get this project rolling. I decided to go with a powerglide so I could do the work myself. I also picked up a full roller cam setup. Its a comp magnum with .262/.262 @ .050 and .652/.652 lift and matching springs. Along with a set of...
Yup, they are 188 heads and I was leaning towards either the Victor Jr or Victor as well but maybe a 800 cfm carb? I have to dig up my desktop Dyno and throw some different cam profiles at it with the head flow numbers I've found to get any idea on a cam that's not a total guess.
