Most of the time an upholsterer will take these covers apart and use the pieces as an outline for the patterns.

I totally understand this for sure. I plan on a custom trunk mount equal length from KwikWire. This allows me to place the circuits where I want them and place the block that suits me. I hate laying on the floorboard to check fuses!

That is correct. If you look to getting the trans mount your came with factory, that should work for your current application. If not, you now have a starting point. Just go back and start pulling mounts that match your trans bolt hole measurements and the cross member...
