Shifter Linkage compatible between all G bodies?

Hi I own a collumn shift 1980 monte and I need new shifter linkage parts. Will the linkage from a 1984 SS monte work? If not, why not? Thanks for the expertise!

pretty simple question regarding frame swaps.

That I was 99% sure about. I just wanted to verify if all the body mounting positions were the same between 1980 and 1981, and ifthere were slight changed I should look out for

pretty simple question regarding frame swaps.

Would a 1980 monte front clip + rest of the body fit perfectly onto a 1981 cutlass supreme rolling chassis? Doing a hefty frame swap,, found a donor car, I need to make 100% sure this will work before diving into this. Last time I dove into a big project I was 90% done and took a pick hammer...

    CruizinKev´s 1979 Monte Carlo

Sweet build. Can you give me some tips on building the body dolly, and how to put the body on the dolly? I have a perfect 80 monte body and an 81 cutlass with a mint frame, and I will need to get that frame and roll it underneath the monte body. Thanks for the input

that's awesome dude. It looks really good. I would love to start a "how to" thread on welding but I'll just do my homework :? One thing though, what's this needler? Googled it, kept getting results about guns from halo  thanks for yalls input.

    Gentlemen, I have bad news..

thanks for the info, i was expecting to pay well over a grand for just the labour part of the frame fix is this something easy to do with a step by step instruction? I have no experience welding but I can learn, if it's something that doesn't require much skill.

    Gentlemen, I have bad news..

Got some photos of the frame for the experts here. Need an honest word of advice. Patch the frame or replace the frame rails, and how much is that gonna cost me as I do not have the means to do it my self. I mean, I could rent a welder and tools and learn to do it in my driveway but.. that's...

    Gentlemen, I have bad news..

I decided I will keep the car till I have the money to get the frame done. How much am I looking at to get the whole body lifted and frame replaced? VS just getting the rear frame rails done?.

    Gentlemen, I have bad news..

I'm thinking about selling it to someone who would be happy to take it. Scrapping the project, not the car. I am from the fraser valley. PM me. Thanks man. Appreciate it.

    Gentlemen, I have bad news..

Damn I notice you're from BC yourself, is this your frame? :D :D :D Thanks for the tip either way. Would you happen to know any shops which do frame swaps for under a grand? I am really not in a position to be able to do a frame swap my self, neither am I experienced enough. But I am willing...

    Gentlemen, I have bad news..

I wish it was as easy for me as you make it sound! No shop, no welder. Hell, I am no welder my self. But I will go back to see my car, take an angle grinder to it, and see how far the rust goes down the frame- are there any other better ways to find out? From the looks of your input, I will be...

    Gentlemen, I have bad news..

Maybe! But the thing is, this car has been garage kept for 20 years. That's why I'm surprised and disappointed about the frame rust.. I am not a welder by any means. But I would hate to see the car go. I hate the idea of parting out cars. It's like ripping limbs off people to me :P

    Gentlemen, I have bad news..

I certainly hope not! Yes, I'm aware :O that's why I'm contemplating on getting a car with a healthier frame... But the way I see it is, it's only a matter of time before every decent g body frame rail rusts through, so you might as well do it yourself.. However, the rust starts way before the...
