this is the idiots way of lowering a car old versus new...

you have to pull the steering column out of the car i believe, and it could also be the ignition switch itself, or possibly the ignition cylinder

so i've been trying to figure this problem out and its just more baffling. when the trunk light is on aka open trunk the dome light comes on. if i turn the headlight switch to the interior lights or open the door the trunk light and dome light go out (with the trunk open) and the under dash...

the door locks work with the doors closed, and the dome light doesn't come on with the switch or opening the door, but it has came on while driving, not fully on but enough to notice at night a few times.... the trunk light has become very dim and stops working when either door is opened. and...

my 84 grand prix has started having a problem with the dome light not coming on and the trunk light and the power locks not working with the doors open. any ideas what my issue could be?? or an idea where i should start looking? everything in the car is from factory too.

or if you can find a socket thats just a hair smaller then the lug nut try hammering it on there and seeing if that will get it to come off, I used that method taking wheel locks off my GP

i figured out how to lock up my torque converter. without the computer with a manual switch, well sometimes it wont unlock and gets stuck in lock up and after parking it for a little while it will unlock itself. anyone know why it would not be unlocking when i kill the power to it??

thats where it mounts in a 84 Grand prix. might be the same for yours..
