Two steps forward, three back.
My original plan was to use a flat top V8 Cutlass shroud on my 81. Found one in really nice shape at a yard a few years ago. Cleaned it, painted it and put it in. When I was tweaking the transmission cooling lines the side of the shroud got pretty scratched up. I wound up stipping it, priming it on Sat. and painted it low gloss black on Sunday, Looks real nice. I put it back in today.
Now that everything is going together I happened to notice the shroud sits up kinda high. I really thought the one piece shroud was a drop in thinking how could it be that different from Olds to Chevy ? Space to the blades looks good. Depth looks good. Height, not so good. I guess I should have searched the threads before I put it in. Funny thing is Ive seen Malibus and Montes using that shroud.
Is the two piece Malibu/Monte shroud the only way to go as far as OEM ?
