Hey im just starting my build on an 1987 El camino conquista with factory bucket seats and center console, thats sat covered in a garage for the last 14 years!! im not sure if this counts though because looking at some of these builds on here that look like real big time stuff, frame off body reworked, new engine stuff so if mine is too smalltime to be considered a build im totally ok deleting this or moving to another thread because cosmetically it looks pretty good and doesn't seem to have more than surface rust so there won't be any repainting, or body off stuff. also it has a 350 and a 200-4R trans so ill prob keep that too.... I just want a nice useable truck car, not looking for a show car. just think it will be cool to have this all documented

I have 3 stages planned for it, mechanical, cosmetic, and finally performance. since money is pretty tight ill prob do each stage in parts too... I hope to do all the work myself but im kinda a noob with anything American, so this is all new to me..
so far;
Ive already completed part 1 that was getting it running, ive pumped out all the old gas, and got a new battery, changed the oil, also in an effort to pass emissions I also got a new air filter, new spark plugs, new egr, sea foam, im now ready to move on to step 2
the biggest concern is ive discovered a broken bolt on the exhaust manifold, and it seems broken off inside the head!!!! so thats what ill be tackling next... while im at it im also hoping to do a few more things, like all new vacuum lines, coolant hoses, power steering lines, ball joints, shocks, engine flush, carb rebuild, new radiator, trans cooler lines etc.. im very concerned about that broken off bolt though. so im tearing into it now..
