Storing the Monte outside on my property isn't going to be viable as it is now. It seems to have a leak and the rear floor parts are wet. I was thinking of slapping together walls and a roof for my open deck trailer to keep it dry, but the thought of a car cover popped into my head as well. It's no show queen, so I'd just need a functional waterproof cover. Since I'm car cover ignorant here, I thought I'd ask here about the pros and cons and what sucks and what doesn't.

While I cant tell you which to buy. I can tell which not to buy. I was having the issue with water seeping in from the area near the back glass and trunk. I picked up a cover from AutoZone, it was trash. Ripped on the first hurricane... 🤐
Jokes aside it was the upper tiered offering and it was extremely cheap quality for the price.
I do plan to order the one that seems to making rounds on the social media ads.
The Price Isn't much more than the crap from AutoZone

I actually just got my sealskin cover today. Fits OK, a little loose on the windshield, but it seems to be well made. I may have it backwards, since I put it on in the dark.
I should add that my previous cover was from classic industries and was made to fit a nova. It had mirror pockets and all. It also cost double the sealskin cover and wasn’t waterproof.

So I checked this am, and I had it on backwards. First better now. Rained a little last night, and car was dry when I pulled the cover this am too. Second pic was it on backwards.

A pretty common place for leaks are these two holes on the firewall, one in each corner. They were factory sealed with foam that disintegrates causing leaks. You can only reach these corner holes after both front fenders are removed.

Is that sealskin waterproof? That's within my range. The front floorboards were dry 4 days of rain ago so not sure if that hellish firewall location is a contributing factor or not. The trunk isn't weathertight either. All stuff I didn't know until I took this thing out of the hangar I'd kept it in since 2019.

This is what I do to both the Bonnewagon and the Whaler. I use a very good quality cover first, then cover that with a very cheap 10x20 blue tarp. The blue tarp gets all the rain, snow, UV light, and bird crap, while protecting the good cover underneath. That way the good cover lasts a very long time and the blue tarp is expendable. This is what it looks like after three days of windy rain and now 45mph gusts. I still need to move it so the ropes I normally use to wrap around the roof are not on yet so it is a bit disheveled right now.

Rear windshield leaks are common, the rear glass overlaps sheet metal seams that run down the side channels of the trunk. To fix them you need to pull the rear deck filler plate and trunk lid.

I'm struggling here, seems the glass ought to come out too? Got pics or a link to this?
