guy said he hasn't driven it. WTF.
Probably scared to!guy said he hasn't driven it. WTF.
Wonder where he got the head. He said it was missing one head when he got the motor. Maybe he got the drawings and had it made.Hey, at least they dynoed the motor, it made 560 HP and 540 ft-lbs of torque. This Pentroof 4 valve motor was nicknamed the "Killer" for a reason.
I would think the second motor was used for specs for the intake and they would be able to just mirror the other head. Not cheap that’s for sure!!Wonder where he got the head. He said it was missing one head when he got the motor. Maybe he got the drawings and had it made.
So it's overhead cam?
Yes, it was. One former Olds employee who has since passed on, that Chevrolet threw an absolute fit when this motor was planning on being built. Whether that has any truth to it, only those involved would have known. Unfortunately whether it was true or not, rising insurance and probably more the upcoming emissions and fuel efficiency standards played a much bigger part in it's demise. It was a big as what if as Olds F-88 which would have killed the Corvette in every way, yet was never built for anyone but Harley Earl. One word: Incredible.
