Let us know the sound. Still want to get something different than the ones Jegs supplied with the stainless kit Jr. is getting under his '79. They also are way heavier than the Pypes Street Pros on my car.Picked up a pair of Stainless Steel Walker "Quiet Flow" mufflers for the '80. They are stock replacement for 2005-14 Charger and 300 Mopars. 2.5" in and out and offset like the pair they are replacing albeit these are a few inches longer and will require some cutting and hopefully little to no welding. I have, maybe, 200 miles on the fully welded Stainless Steel Pypes "Turbo Pro" mufflers and they are just too loud for my tastes. Disappointed to say the least! The decibel meter app (on the dash mount) is reading 75-80 between 40 and 55mph and at 65mph or more it's over 85 decibels and on the hearing damage side of things. I'm not racing, nor is this car any kind of monster horsepower hotrod, so I have no need to have a real loud exhaust and suffer driving it. My plans for the car are strictly just an anytime I get the chance cruiser, equal parts highway and back roads driving. I went with the 2.5" just in case I decide to go 455 later on. I have a complete '71 455 under the work bench. Who knows maybe I'll get to it and go big.
Also have a new set of Moog front coil springs coming as after putting a few miles on the car lately the driver side has nose dived and the ride height is way off from side to side. I'm replacing them with the 5608 coils, they are stock replacement HD small block, no A/C.
Will be replacing the steering box after the springs and mufflers are done. The box is adjusted as far as it can go and leaking, it's the original cheaper box without the 4 bolt cap. Going to buy new and get that handled.
