Ok so as part of the interior refresh, I am redoing my trunk too. I originally, 7 years ago had aspirations to make my interior tan..thus I originally did all my beauty boards and trunk in tan carpet. Used 3M Super 77 to adhear it to all the wood beauty boards and the raw metal areas of the trunk that were exposed. Worked great! This is trunk currently after 7 years. Held up great.
Well now I am going to switch to marine grade vinyl (much easier to clean up any oil off of lol) in a burgandy/maroon to tie the trunk into the interior and vinyl top. I am thinking of using 3M Super 90 adhesive spray to apply. Obviously I am making new floor, sides and woofer box beauty boards so these will have fresh surfaces to attach to. And then the face of the trunk under the woofers will be cleaned and sprayed to adhear the vinyl to it. This will also take place on the very back of the inside if the trunk as well. I do not need to pull the vinyl crazy tight, so am thinking 3M Super 90 should work here too. I was also reading about DAP Landau Top Spray can. But read alot of reviews that it has trouble spraying. So after this long post...what you fellas recommend?
