anyone recover reupholster sunvisors?

Nice site. Otherwise it's Fleabay or bust. I see some on there but prices vary wildly. Most look to need recovering. Try to get the roof clips that hold the end up.

There were 2 different mthods used. Seems like cars through 81 had a vinyl strip around the perimeter, with metal "clamps" at the ends. The later ones were hemmed as previous;y described, then stitched together around the perimeter.

FWIW, when I did the coupe headliner/visors, i did the fabric myself, and asked the trim guy we use at work about doing the edge vinyl (which I had) and he wanted $125. Repros were less than that. I wound up getting in touch with a woman locally through my in-laws who did them and wanted $15. We paid her $35. She wound up doing my seats as well. since none of the presewn covers were the correct color.

This guy makes it look easy. And he has a sewing machine that goes through two layers of board.

I got the Jeep visors today. They were as crummy as the seller said they were. Good, they need recovering. Once I take my Bonnewagon down off the winter blocks, I can see what needs to be done to make them fit. Stay tuned.

Well, the XJ Jeep visor did in fact fit the GM bolt pattern. Not perfectly, but close enough to locate the holes with an awl, then to angle the screws in. GM has the trim screw heads flush to the bracket. Jeep has the bracket surface raised a bit, with counter-sunk holes and small head screws. I found some longer GM trim screws that did not fit into the counter-sunk part, but sat on top. That did the job. Now I need to figure out where to locate the visor clips that hold the far end of the visor up. [I had forgotten about those] I need a pic of that area minus headliner. I could use the front trim strip too. The visors I found cheap were so ratty I ordered some extra new headliner material. I will be doing my Daughter's XJ headliner maybe this Summer. I ordered an extra yard to do her and my visors.

Jeep is black- GM chrome. Longer screws fit the Jeep bracket. My OEM visors look kind of ratty too with the new headliner. Recovering the Jeep visors will be much better. Jeep visor fits nice. Should I wire it for the lighted up mirror? As if I need that.

So 84 to 2001 Jeep Cherokee (XJ) visors fit the Gbody?

Any other options?

It looks like the visors I pictured in the first post here are from a 2nd gen (70-81) Trans Am

I like it. looks good. Could use a scrub though.

I use those quite a lot. Every car I ever stripped donated visors to my stash.
Any other options?
XJ's are all I have dealt with. Others may, I don't know. I just like that they are super easy to recover. I forgot about the end clips. Late model GM used them too. Even the mounting screw holes are similar. Are they going to fit? I don't know. Many are just too short.

If you're talking about end clips for the end opposite the pivot, I've never see them on a G body.
