Grand Am Scorpion - Information?

What is everyone's fascination with this car scorpion? Doesn't look very special to me. Im sure it was 301 or 305. Whoopee I'll put scorpion emblems on mine if you want to buy it! View attachment 254226View attachment 254227
The Fascination i have is finding out about these Rare dealer packages and other Special editions. They were common cars back then sure. but 40+ years into these modern times, they are a very rare sight to see. I would consider them just as rare as any of the Century / Cutlass Salon cars. Just love the pontiac history.

Very nice car. However, some of us, some more than others are into the oddities and weird facts and history about these types of things. If both cars were for sale side by side apples to apples and i was in the market for one I'll pick the scorpion labeled one just because of the story and nothing else.

exactly! years ago (35+) when I was into 64-68 Mustangs, there were all kinds of special models. Colorado had High Country Specials, Kansas had Twister Editions, etc. That was done by local dealers and not the factory. then the factories got in on it and offered thousands to the public, which made it that much less unique. sometimes it was just graphics, other times it was something special. regardless, it was a local model and not just something you could pick up off the showroom floor.
Scoggin-Dickey, Baldwin Motion, Yenko, Mr.Norm; something you couldn't get just anywhere.

I used to HATE those mustangs. Age is getting to me... They're starting to grow on me, Though. I will always like the Long Nose 1971–73.
anyway, Just Neat diving into the late night adventures like this and pondering about it the rest of the day.

I find it little odd that someone would post 4 pictures of their car in a thread about something totally unrelated. And here I am trying to fix the internet...
