Had to post in this so I get notifications, lol. I'll be wrenching MORE on our 55 Chevy 210 Prostreet here soon to get ready for Power Tour 2024. I'll be shooting a ton of video for my YT channel as well. We've already did a Silver Sport Transmission TKX 5 speed swap, coilovers in the fronts...
I haven't seen a thread yet for this, and was curious if anyone is going this year? My brother and I are taking his Pro Street 55 Chevy, long haul if it makes it, lol.
That's what I am figuring! I used to (12 yeas ago) have access to some nice machine tools on base till we changed missions, so they all went away. I made alot of stuff for my projects after hours, and definitely miss that ability. I have to relearn myself on how to use it, shape the HSS...
Another addition to the shop! Something I've always wanted, but never had the room for, a lathe. This is a 1946 Southbend 9A, with a quick change gear box and a power crossfeed. Cane with a 3 and 4 jaw chuck, steady rest and anther rest, some collets and tooling, and quick change tool block...
Working on ordering some replacement parts for my Branick Strut compressor, It needs a new thrust bearing and 2 handles since I lost 2 on the highway transporting it!
Yes sir, I have those on order. I have the cover for the bead break shovel on there already. This machine has the metal Duck head with the bearing, but like you stated, that has a tendency to mess up wheels.
Shop update. Finally finished up refurbishing the tire machine! Note I didn't repaint the whole machine, just a few select things and a decent cleaning. A rundown of the items repaired:
I have replaced all the air lines, as they were replaced before with SAE tubing, and were brittle and...
Another update! Not having the cash, or waiting on parts to be available, has come in handy. I finally scored some NOS lifter retainers, or dogbones, for the roller cam conversion. If you recall, I am using GM roller lifters and dogbones in this engine. This was the final hard item to...
Looking good! I have the panel splitters from Eastwood, picked them up at Carlisle last year. I have to say I don't know I had I made it all these years without them!.
I also removed the pedal assembly to clean, and free up the pedals as they were really stiff from corrosion. I have 2 replacement air manifolds on the way.
More parts arriving today so I can replace the air lines with the correct metric lines which are 8, 10, and 12mm, a new air...
A little more over the past few evenings. I took the rim clamp cylinders off, cleaned and inspected them, they are good. Also took the rim clamps and slides off to clean, blast and paint. I cup wired the table to get the rust off.
The clamp cylinders were missing all sorts of...
