Wow never heard anybody ever take a spring out by letting lose the top ball joint I always just loosen the bottom ball joint and have the jack bring it down slowly but to help tw get a spring compressor compress it then use a jack to pump up the ARM to line up everything
Get lowering springs for a s10 give you the drop you want front control arms are the same the back heat the springs or eibach kit but it will only lower it about an inch
Get rid of the computer controlled carb switch it over to a normal 4barrel get vacuum advance hei and change the timing stock specs are a joke and change gear ratio to 3.42 the gears is what really changes things up
Nice Monte you should really lower it would make it POP out more but got a quick question how did you setup your heater like that I like that look of your engine bay
Yup locked out timing is fine for a streetcare especially if you have a high stall converter in your car instant power to the ground only downside your fuel.mileage will.suffer a bit but you'll have good throttle response
Yes it would help you out but you also need to check your plugs if they black and smell like gas you running rich if they white lean and etc or you could just adjust your idle little higher or timing and etc I never pay attention to stock timing settings there always underpowered
You can also lock your timing out to 38 or watever your motor likes you would just need a kill switch to the dizzy so you turn key have starter turn your motor then hit the switch and Bam car on and you don't have to worry about vacuum advance or idle problems
Ok here comes the bad news the msd streetfire is a pos it has a slow igintion curve and control module and coil are exactly like a stock gm hei so here comes the fun part you have a custom motor so you need to buy aftermarket weights and spring for your msd to bring the mechanical advance faster...
Ok the steel tube goes to your trans so hook that up to that tee behind the carb get rid of that valve openor on your coolant line and just replace it with a straight port 1 Napa has them and buy a vacuum guage when car is in park turn on car let it idle adjust screws on front of carb turn in...
That type of setup you want to do is just guna be a pain and unsafe too reason why if you add people to the car that side will sag and when you do turns it will body roll big time and the ride will be terrible just a huge headache
Wants some air for your ride check out this kit just perfect for you and you just need to buy the front mounting cups rear universal bracket and cheap shocks for the back and your set http://www.airassisted.ca/us/product_in ... cts_id=481
You usually cut the top of the spring the top of the spring will have the coils more far apart. I just use a cutting torch when I do mind takes about 13 seconds per shock cut right below the top coil end so basically after you cut it, it should like a stock spring with the same end on top so...
I'll chime in I've cut all the springs on all my g body cars I've own most people keep the stock shock when they cut it and that's what really ruins the ride and I've cut 2 coils off max for the type of drops I wanted and used a shorter stock and the ride didn't feel bad at all
1 more thing a smaller bag requires more psi to get it ride height so increasing ride stiffness and etc bigger bag less psi needed and a more stable comfortable riding
I would not do a two way system increases body roll and when u start adding weight like people etc things will be uneven I would a 4 way setup a basic 4 way setup with tank valves bags runs around 1300 I'm currently guna bag my 79 olds and its costing me around 1700 for everything
