I tried manually opening the hood and that didn't work. It seems like the release cable doesn't want to unlock the hood. when taking the grill off what do i have to then? seems like i can't get to cable? i might be doing something wrong I guess?

I,m not sure with the battery light and oil and choke light. but the check engine like could be a few things. I would recomend doing the spark plug and wires and distributor cap and rotor. i would also check to make sure you don't have any vacume leaks that can also cause your check engine light...
