I have a 78 cutlass, will 275/60/15s on 7" rims work? They did notch the framerails & stuffed 22s on it at one time if that helps. They have a 4" BS.

if your frame is notched, you'll have far more clearance than most of us.
a 275/60/15 can be stuffed onto a 7" in rim, but it's not advised. It would feel more comfortable on a 8" rim

4" is backspacing is ideal for frame clearance. But 4" BS wheel feel tighter on a 7" rim than it will on a 8" rim, because the tire bulges more on the 7"

if your frame is noticed, you likely don't have to worry about backspacing tho... You may want to consider how close the tire is to the outside. A tall tire like that is likely to rub the fender skirt.

I currently have a set of 275-60-15 Mickey Thompson Drag Radials on my 86 with 15X8 in the rear and 4.5" BS. They fit great, the only modification I had to do was in the quarter panel lip for extra clearance (but my car was also dropped 1" so that my not be neccessary for you).
