What's this cable behind my gauge cluster??

it is the gear indicator cable, it hooks to the lower side of the steering column. remove the panel directly below the column with the small vent in it and you will see the clip on the side closest to the gas pedal, it just slides off.

92 chevy truck blows smoke when put in reverse

Hey guys, I'm stumped here and hope you all can help. I recently rebuilt the 4.3 V6 engine and put in a used 700R4 from pick and pull, now I'm having an issue with oil pressure which I'm hoping to solve today with a new oil pump but it seems when I stop to back in my driveway and put the truck...

84 cutlass Light switch fusible link location

I wouldn't suspect a ground issue as it worked until the cigg. lighter was pushed in and didn't pop back out. I'm guessing that constant power must have burnt the link since everything else still works ? the link shouldn't be in the passenger compartment , would it ? haven't been able to find...

84 cutlass Light switch fusible link location

Ok, well the car has no headlights , parking lights and no dash lights.... turn signals work, brake lights work, reverse lights work and ALL fuses are good so I'm guessing the fusible link must have fried ? I've tried putting in another cluster, 2 different light switches and nothing helps.

84 cutlass Light switch fusible link location

Does anyone know the exact location of the fusible link that is in the red wire coming from the switch for the lights ? I've been told it could be along the firewall or behind the fuse panel ? just trying to find the exact location so I don't remove half the car to find it...lol Thanks in advance

been busy but now i'm back ....

Just a note, the engine I pulled from pick and pull turned out to be in great shape, so I didn't need to bore out the cylinders, or even have it or the heads decked. I reused as many parts as possible by soaking and wire brushing them until clean ie: lifters, pushrods, pistons, heads, block...
