As far as the push nut, you may have to mic the size of the stud or buy an assortment kit and hope there's a size that fits.
Best bet would be to take the unit with you to the hardware store and troll the nut and bolt isle and find the size you need. I never checked, but they should have them...

Are you sure the joint isn't moving around IN the cap (like a few or a lot of the needle bearings haven't given up).
