I was looking at one of the GN units for my car, but the angles are off and the taillights being different would make it have to be modified, sooo I, like Donovan am building a custom one.
Set up my "fab" shop to start building this spoiler lol. Gonna go get a legit table as the saw horses weren't helping. Didn't have much time to spend today, but got a couple pieces welded. Shitty part is having to move the car out since I don't want splatter on it.
I got my Cutlass back on the road after serious brake issues. I still think my front right blazer caliper has issues, but I've eliminated the frame valve and now have an adjustable setup coming from a RHD Blazer master. Brakes are better for now, but keeping a close eye on them.
Was piddling around in the garage last night and decided to cut up my aftermarket SS laydown spoiler. I really like the look of the notch, it's what I wanted to do 10 years ago. Still searching for a brave soul to take on this task of making one. If not I'm gonna force myself to learn to make a...
Not sure yet tbh. Neighbor only knows sheetmetal from doing circle track. There are some good fab guys local that I know that could tackle aluminum. I just don't have the right equipment here to do it, nor the room.
The edge profile planned is to be similar to a MCSS laydown like I have, with some added design changes. It will extend out about an 1" to 1.5" further, then have a kick down notch in the center. Messing with board is fun btw, dang thing looks all wonky lol....
Got the blazer M/C and bracket painted up with some VHT epoxy paint. Also started fooling around with a new spoiler design. That dang MCSS one has frustrated me enough. Neighbor said he'd make one outta sheetmetal if I want.
Made some progress the last couple evenings. Have the brake lines pretty much mocked up, just waiting on a couple adapter fittings to ensure fitment before pulling stuff apart to paint and such. I prolly made this more complicated than needed, but that seems to be my MO.
First two were brass and stainless lines literally ripped the threads out! This one was aluminum, a little pressure relief valve I guess started leaking.
Put my car in the air today to tear out the master cylinder and 3rd, yes 3rd frame valve! Going to an adjustable system which "should" be more simple. Made a bracket to mount the valve under the blazer master I've had sitting around. A friend is lending me his Eastwood flaring tool and it's...
Got home a bit ago. Ended up bringing in 3rd in my class. I was told my car would've destroyed the conservative 80-89 class, but too many mods were done and it put me into the low end of the next class up. Pretty awesome though for my 1st indoor show. Kinda butthurt to get beat by a dang ole...
My car is currently sitting at the Bluegrass World of Wheels show. First time being at an indoor show and I have much to improve on for next time. Car looks good, but I got put into a class with stiff competition. Odd cars, but nice builds from a general standpoint. I'll see tomorrow how I did.
