converting from a 4.1 to a chevy 350 engine in 84 Buick Regal

just curious, since he has the 4.1 how much would it generally cost to do a turbo package as opposed to throwing in a new engine as well as all the accoutrements?first thought logic says probably more but ive never really thought the numbers through.i do know that that 4.1 block is pretty sought...

Got a weird one, it could be a coincidence with rough idle and new radiator

i cant really think of anything that would result in a rougher idle from a radiator exchange...possibly pinched or open carbon canister line to the carb or pinched/bent fuel line?possibly not torqued properly or off balance fan blade?i guess that would present itself as more of a terrible noise...

for an olds 307 without a dwell meter i have found 2 and 3/4 turns out from bottomed on the m/c solenoid to be pretty ideal and puts your right at 30 to 32 degrees dwell on the 6 cylinder scale.tps should be checked with a multimeter with the black lead on the battery negative and postive probed...

Car running rough.. where to start?

a few things, you mention you have a 200-4r in the car so im assuming it once had the computer controlled setup via the electronic quadrajet and distributor.did you reuse the original distributor?if you took it off the computer yet are still using it it will run like crap possibly to the point of...

    Coolant in cylinders

if the keepers are stuck a quick rap with a ball peen hammer does the trick.not entirely recommended but you can also release the valves by putting the heads up on two pieces of wood on both sides, getting a socket the size of the valve retainer and giving them a good tap with a hammer.you need...

Timing and plug wires 1985 cutlass 307

in lieu of a dial backtiming light clean your balancer well then make a makeshift timing tape.have it start at the zero mark on the timing pointer and run the tape clockwise down the balancer.now make white out marks at say the 30,36 and 50 degrees going clockwise so when you read with a normal...

radio ignition noise of death and destruction

i was under the understanding aluminum wouldnt create a solid ground because of its alloys.if im wrong no argument from me,just all older engines and most newer ones arnt grounded at aluminum they are usually on a cast iron piece somewhere,be it a bolt and nut combination or a grounding strap...
