    Fan shroud for v8 swaps

Hey guys. Some of you may know I'm working on doing a swap from v6 to v8 buick. I know I'll need a fan shroud for a v8. What cars can I pull these from? V8 gbodies for sure right? Are there other cars?

Thanks for the tip. I think I saw that in an episode of car TV or something. Using the gauges. So you are also building a Buick 350 also?

That's a very true possibility. What about all the gunk in the cylinders right now? How to I clean them off? Looks like oil and rust. I think I might just remove heads and clean up in there. Clean up the heads and put new gaskets in. Is there a way to clean piston tops? Your absolutely right...

    Old Buick 350

Well, Yes and No. I can get the engine to do about 3/4 of a turn and then it just gets stuck unless I go the other way. I have just been going back and forth until it stops. Seems to be giving way each time just a bit more. I plan on taking the heads off today, there seems to be some pretty...

NICE! I still need to clean up the engine a bit. To see the casting number. I don't remember the number right now on the intake but I did a little research. From what I found it was used in 1970 skylark GS. Block doesn't seem to be rebuilt so I'm pretty sure it's all number matching.

So I had some time to take valve covers off. Heads are stamped 1233472. Are these good heads worth rebuilding?

Thank you sir! I had a chance to take off the intake and water pump last night. Here are some pics, a little debri fell on the sided and I cleaned it up, but nothing actualy went down into the valley. What do you guys think? I will be taking the heads off today since I should be out a litle...

The company decided to provide us lunch today, so since I didn't have to go anywhere I used my lunch hour to do some pricing. Ofcourse I am not going to buy anything yet. Just window shopping. Total for all the parts you listed minus the motor mounts, if I am not mistaken won't the V-6 mounts...

This sounds like a great plan :). Ill probably start taking the heads, and intake off this weekend. First I have to clean it up a bit, going to hit it with some purple power and a wire brush today once I get home from work. I will start pricing gaskets, and other things you mentioned tonight...

I totally agree. But just knowing that it broke loose is a good feeling for me. Next weekend I take it apart and see how it looks. I really don't think its too bad. From what the guy I got it from he seemed to be sincere and not bsing me he told straight up, water got into it from the recent...

With no real pressure, I did it with a flat heat head screw driver. A short one :) What do you guys suggest we do next? WE because you all are part of this now lol

Gentlemen! We have movement! I was just trying to rock it back and forth from the flywheel, and I got it to rotate about 3/4 spin, spat out what I put it in! I put a little more to let it soak more..but it's moving! Good news!
