Update! Got the wiring done up and tested. Works! Next task is gassing up and seeing if the fuel gauge reads correctly. Then a long needed wash and vacuum.

Finally got the reverse lights to work with the B&M switch. Now I need to make the wiring permanent.

That bump plate is already on the B&M. I just have to put the switch bracket and switch on.

I dropped the column and couldn't find those 2 wires. Only ones I found were black/red stripe and red/black stripe. It looked like the last owner had them hooked up at some point as the 2 wires that run to the shifter were cut. I am planning on looking behind the fuse box to find that blue wire...

Got it!! I ran a wire from the back up fuse and from the light green wire terminal at the fuse box harness to the switch. Got 14g wire to replace those old switch wires at the shifter.

Got a little bit of time to poke around the column and the only 2 wires that go into the switch at the base are black/wht stripe and red/blk stripe. I felt all around the switch and nothing else runs to it. Can I tap into the green wire any where in the chain? It looks like that blue wire runs...

Ah! If I'm seeing it right, the CCCS would be in the cab? If so, I'm tapping into that wire. 😝

Is there a diagram for that blue ignition lead, aside from the reverse light diagram?

Only seen a red and blue wire under the sill plate. I'll have to hop in back and see where the wire loom comes in. Things may have been moved when the rear wheel wells were tubbed out.

With the battery being moved to the trunk, I'll have to check the blue wire when I find it.

I have some 14-16 insulated heat shrink connectors I can use. I was initially going to find the reverse wire and then run a new lead, but then I decided I should Google it... I'm not worried about the switch. The first thing dad had told me when he got it was that it'll start in gear.

Well... Decided to look under the carpet first. Kind of glad I did! 😋 I did notice a blue wire that was cut when I was under there. I'll have to take a better look and trace it. Then, should I splice both reverse light wires to one of the red wires?

Awesome! I will take a look. I might peel the carpet back to see what wires are going to those red ones.

Yep! Got one of them. Not sure if both red wires go to it, or just one of them.

The Monte(81 LS) has a B&M Pro Stick and I would like to get the reverse lights working. There are 2 red wires with female connectors down at the base of the Pro Stick. Do the green wires from the reverse lights get spliced into 1 wire that goes to the shifter switch? If that's the case, I...

*UPDATE* Got to fiddling around with this. With no sending unit, the gauge reads full. So I hooked the pink to the sending unit's green and ground for the yellow/white. With that, the gauge reads just at the E line, which should be correct, as I have yet to gas it up. Next step is to get gas in...

Finally got the new cell in. Just need to wire the sending unit up.
