    Adapter/Spacer help

I'd be concerned about those lines on the spacer. Might be fracture lines. Notice how they seem to line up with the holes and studs in the spacer. Sounds like you torqued them down hard against an uneven, rusty surface. If you don't replace the spacers, keep a close watch on those fracture...

Why Is GBF So Laid Back?

Just read thru this thread. Another thing I think contributes to the congeniality is most members are not hung up on originality or authenticity. Some other sites I frequent CLAIM to be inclusive but are somewhat hostile to "improvements" the owner enjoys. Moderators set the tone and members...

    DAYTONA 500

That would be great!! NASCAR is what it is and won't go back to its roots. Maybe an alternative to NASCAR will start up. Then individual or small group owners could compete. I was at Daytona in 1959 or 1960. A friend of a friend and his dad owned, entered and drove a Ford that came in 7th. (y)

    DAYTONA 500

Valid points. Especially Chrysler by Daimler. I might be a minority of one but I'd still rather have the American heritage of the Big 3 in NASCAR. If including Toyota gains more money and fans than it loses, it makes business sense to do it.

    DAYTONA 500

Growing up near Detroit, I enjoyed the rivalry of the Big 3 American brands. Personally, I can't think of a Japanese brand as American. No offense to those who can. For me, NASCAR is less interesting with Toyotas.

    DAYTONA 500

I turned it on to see a Toyota in front. The :"N" used to indicate "National" There are plenty of international races I wish NASCAR could have stayed American.

    Opinions wanted

I have a 383 Blueprint crate engine and TH350 in my '81 El Camino. 383 dynoed at 444 HP. TH350 works great but, if I ever had to replace it, I'd get an OD trans and steeper rear gear.

    Gauges

I don't know if your gauge cluster is similar to the '81 El Camino but, here's what I did. The broken speedometer was replaced with Autometer 3 1/8" mechanical speedometer and the non-working clock was replaced with an Autometer 3 1/8" tach. Dash lights were replaced with blue LEDs.

Yep. The turn signal/cruise lever is the only part of the cruise control parts still there. Got a transducer, wiring, vacuum lines, speedometer cables and bracket delivered today. Servo, etc shipped today so should have it by the end of the week. It'll be "fun" figuring it all out.
