New to the Forum with my 1980 Olds 442 W-30, factory t-tops and A/C

Thanks, and I see Glen also lives in Winterpeg. Can't imagine there are too many cities that size that have two of these in running condition. Some accounts suggest that only about 200 of the original 855 (both white and black) survive.

New to the Forum with my 1980 Olds 442 W-30, factory t-tops and A/C

Hey, guys. I realize this is an old thread, but wanted to introduce myself. This car is incoming to Toronto, for transshipment to Greensboro, NC, from Medicine Hat, where I bought it. Nicely preserved 110,550 km (~69,000 miles for American members!), no air nor T-Tops. It's been modified...

I went and did it, again...

https://www.kijiji.ca/v-view-details.html?adId=1620197144 Yes, I am seeking professional help for my problem. An enabler friend in Edmonton drew this to my attention, and a deal was struck. Plans include Vintage Air, Sniper EFI, rear disc conversion, and probably a modern...

    G-Body rear ends

I've been under the impression, for decades, that the hi-po G-Bodies from '82 on, like the Monte SS, Grand National, 442, and 2+2, all left the factory with the 8.5" rear end. But an '86 Monte SS just coughed up a 7.5" (open) 3.70. No evidence the car's ever been altered. Any insights?

    just finished my 86 SS

Sweet! My buddy is about to finish off his '86 Monte, but I think yours looks even nicer!

    New SS owner checking in!

Yeah, my buddy's anything but moderate. The '86 Monte is 98% finished, but now he's building a '72, with a built BBC, like a replica of the Bobby Allison Coca-Cola Monte Carlo.

    New SS owner checking in!

My buddy's got a sweet '86, with a 600+ hp LS. It's a rocket ship. That 190 hp "high output" small block is pretty lame. Just remember the 200R, driveshaft, and differential aren't up to the task, magnifying the investment.

Nice find! The sheetmetal doesn't look bad in the pictures.

GBOTM APRIL Entries - It's SPRINGTIME

Came to Greensboro, NC, two years ago, from Solon, OH, where it was "done" about 15 years ago. I've gotten the accessories sorted, put on the aluminum hood, installed the NOS spoiler I'd had for many years, and dropped in the 700R replacing the TH350 it arrived with. Since these pictures were...

GBOTM APRIL Entries - It's SPRINGTIME

'78 Cutlass Salon 442. Built 350, 700R, power windows and locks, cruise, tilt, aluminum hood and same-era NOS Century Turbo Coupe decklid spoiler. Not the prettiest design GM ever produced, ranks with the early '80s Seville, and the Pontiac Aztek near the bottom of the barrel aesthetically...

New toy 1981 Indy 500 pace car

Happy to be in Florida right now! Back for February, then gone for most of March. I’ll miss Run to the Sun, this year. Hopefully, we can meet IRL once the cruise nights get rolling again. What’s the new G-Body in your fleet?

New toy 1981 Indy 500 pace car

Not back till 10.15 that evening, so that's not really a prospect. I was at one of those three weeks ago, with a different car, must've missed you.

Hey, finally got the 700R in the Aeroback. Which show do you plan to go to, next?

79 Cutlass carb may be flooded

Yeah, well, I'll stick with the "Cutless" I already own. Looks like it was a nice car before it went swimming, but bringing her back would be more costly than the ultimate product would be worth.

Anyone else kinda tired of "One of ***" claims?

Yeah, back in the day, one of my work colleagues had an '80 Cutlass Calais with the diesel, automatic, T-tops, Rocket II wheels, buckets, temp-controlled air, and power windows. This was in Ottawa, Canada, so whether it was "one of one", or not, it's almost certainly now reincarnated as three...

1987 Monte Carlo SS won’t start just clicks :(

You wouldn't get the clicking if the circuit was closed. Either a failed solenoid, or a seized starter.

Till Death Do Us Part 1980 442

Sweet. You're not far from me, would love to hook up at the Run to the Sun, or Auto Fair (if they ever have it, again 🙄). I had my '79 Aeroback 442, back in the day, and the gentleman who lived next door to us, a lawyer with the Attorney-General's office in Ottawa, Canada, had a black one like...

    GBOTM June Entries - **1978**

Class of '78. Proper Sport steering wheel since added, has aluminum hood and Buick Turbo Coupe spoiler (as shown above, too!). Got lots of attention at the Griot's Garage Goodguys meet in Raleigh, last month. Only Aeroback on exhibit.

    81 cutlass stereo

Don't understand, do you need a harness, or a head unit? If the latter, I have a Custom Autosound unit that I bought, then have since gone in another direction, and is surplus.
