    200r4 or th400?

When I put a 220r4 in my 78 Malibu I didn't have to do anything with the driveshaft. I already had an 8.5 GN rear end and driveshaft from a 1987 GN. I had to replace the crossmember ( you will have to do this ) I had to change to a shifter that worked with the 200 . I chose a B&M quicksilver...

daily driver thread.... What are you driving?

My daily driver is my 85 El Camino and my wife and I also share a 99 GTP. I'm not a front wheel drive fan but that car rocks. I'm in the process of rat rodding my El Camino. Just removed the Air conditioning, emission stuff and an aftermarket cruise control someone had installed that didn't work...

Rear end Options? stock 7.5? 8.5? ford 8.8?

I have a 8.5 GN rear in my 78 Malibu but If you're not making over 350 hp at the wheels I wouldn't bother swapping out the 7.5. I wish I'd known more when I did mine because the 8.5's are expensive especially with a posi unit. You can get the carrier from an F-body and if it came from a 6 speed...

    5hr Wagon

You'd be surprised by some of the stuff people drive on the streets in Michigan :)

    5hr Wagon

$250,000 to build maybe. Watch any Barret Jackson and see what late model cup cars sell for. $65,000 tops and that's usually if its a Jimmie Johnson or Jeff Gordon car, this is a Toyota. I'm from Michigan and I'd rather walk than drive a Japanese make.

    5hr Wagon

That's what I was thinking, I watched it twice to make sure I wasn't just imagining to read it on the grill. I'd rather have that wagon than a Toyota race car though.

I'm New on here so here is a video of my 78 Malibu Classic

The Guy I bought it from is Named Tom B. Yep he has an Orange one ( actually called Cinnabar ) with a bench seat 4 speed. He's one of my club members. The pictures you took here are at Sloan last year. I owned it then, but it had the stock 305 in it then. The White Trans Am convertible next to...

I'm New on here so here is a video of my 78 Malibu Classic

The Chrome dress up stuff was on the 305 that was inthe car when I bought it. I want to eventually go with the Raised text aluminum covers like the ones that come on the ZZ572. The color nearly matches the color of my car perfect. I'm in the Flint area of Michigan. I grew up in Linden, lived in...

I'm New on here so here is a video of my 78 Malibu Classic

I'm kinda new to the site and just wanted to share a video of my 1978 Malibu Classic. It's a .040 over small journal 327 (333 c.i. ) with a mild flat tappet cam, elelbrock performer RPM, holley 750 DP mechanical secondaries. The car has a Ridings Performance Transmission 2004R and a 87 Grand...

Need Help with an Engine Light coming on

I'm not sure if the dash has ever been changed. It's a real simple dash with the long rectangle speedometer that goes left to right and a gas gauge in the left corner. That's it. No clock, no tach, no anything else. I'm not sure why it would even have an Engine Light. There are no O2 sensors on...

Need Help with an Engine Light coming on

I have a 1978 Malibu. It's got a 305 4bbl. I have not run the numbers yet, but I think it might be an LG4 from a Monte Carlo SS. When the car heats up the Engine light comes on every time I stop. It's just a red light that say's Engine. It goes out whenever I pull away and drive. It only comes...
