    What was your 1st car? & and 1st G-Body?

My first car was a '70 LTD 4dr hardtop w/51k, given to me by my grandmother(still got it). First car I actually bought (so I didn't destroy the LTD) was a '73 Maverick Grabber. 302/c4 w floor shift & bucket seats. Really rusty, it is being continually cannabolized to keep my other...

daily driver thread.... What are you driving?

Since I'm a truck driver, I guess mine should be classified as weekly drivers since I'm out about a week at a time. Although it is a 92 mile round trip though. '94 Escort wagon- rusty Chicago car(bought off e-bay). 1.9/5spd. Uses no oil, gets 35 mpg and with the back seats folded down holds alot...

    It runs!

A little update. Drove it home a few days ago, the carb is junk, and now the starter is dragging even though I've got a 1,000 CA battery, a huge(from a road tractor) hot cable and supposedly a new starter. But the old engine doesn't smoke, the trans shifts fine and the cut driveshaft is...

    It runs!

Got the 455 started, sounds good but gotta get a driveshaft cut for it. Used a '68 Malibu crossmember so I got a double hump for real dual exhaust. Hopefully it'll be driving by the end of the week!

Why everyone is putting Chevy's in the off brands!

This thread brings up several points. The reason most guys drop in a sbc is easy-they're a dime a dozen, as are speed parts(new/used). BOPC motors are great, but check out a PAW catalog. You can screw together multiple sbc's for the cost of one so called "off brand" motor. I hate sbc's in Fords...

    Ford guy with a malibu-east TN-PICS!

Re: Ford guy with a malibu-east TN Thanks guys for the welcome. I've been lurking a short time here & over at Maliburacing.com and I keep reading about a custom double hump crossmember that I'll supposedly need for the T400 trans. Anyone know about this part-where to get it & how much it cost...

    Ford guy with a malibu-east TN-PICS!

Re: Ford guy with a malibu-east TN Thanks. It's an Olds instead of a Buick though. If I get really serious with this car as far as racing goes, I'll probably just ditch the rear & put a 9" in it. I figure the 2.73s oughta be ok for all around driving, the 455s torque should cancel out the lack...

    Ford guy with a malibu-east TN-PICS!

As you can see by my username, I've been Ford pretty much my whole life. Had an '80 malibu sbc(sounded wicked, weaker n my wifes 250k v6 Celebrity for some reason),'78 Cutlass sbc, '77 Impala 2dr fastback sbc,'78 Olds Delta88-bbo, and an '84 Cutlass(vsik). Other than those it's been mostly...
