Looking on buying a 442 Spoiler wing

If you are asking what the composition is I honestly have no idea. It is rubber gasket material you can buy at the hardware store. It's been on my car for 15 plus years with no issues.

I purchased it from the hardware store in my home town. It is 1/8 thick rubber.

    Wheeler Dealers

Maybe I'm crazy but you put Ed and Aaron Kauffman on a show together you would really have something. I enjoyed Wheeler Dealer mostly because of Ed. It shows what kind of person he is that he is not willing to sacrifice his credibility for the sake of corporate TV. I worked in a restoration...

    WHAT'S IN YOUR TOOLBOX?

I guess I'm a bit of a tool snob. Luckily when I was in tech school Snap on had a deal with the school where students could purchase tools at nearly half off. That is how I ended up with a lot of my stuff......so here goes. Snap on 3 bank KRL series box with top hutch in Lime green. I also...

    Build Thread: '87 442 . . . Time to turn and stop

Yeah I remember when the original power antenna went out on mine, it's a real pain in the you know what to replace it. Luckily I had a buddy of mine that owned a body shop that let me know you have to take the fender off. If he wouldn't have told me that I would have still been trying to figure...

Looking on buying a 442 Spoiler wing

I have one on my Cutlass from Lauren engineering. It fit fine. All I had to do was make gaskets where it mounts to the trunk lid.

    My $1900 83 cutlass supreme

I had a edelbrock cam in mine way back in the day. It wasn't rowdy by any means like what you are talking about, but definitely woke it up.

    My $1900 83 cutlass supreme

Nice score there. The 307 can be quite peppy with the right parts. Sounds like you are already half way there with the carb and dual exhaust. A cam swap would definitely wake it up even more.

    High idle or just crazy?

That's a nice Regal . If the guy didn't expect to have to do at least a little work on a mostly original late 70s car, he wasn't the right buyer.

    Sorry that wasn't my intent.

    Catalytic Converter Maintenance?

Make sure the cam on the secondary air valves is intact and the tension on the air valve spring isn't too tight. Too loose and you will get a bog, but too tight isn't good either. Next time your at the bone yard look and see if they have a pile of Qjets laying around. If so snag a few different...

    Catalytic Converter Maintenance?

If you suspect a cat is clogged you can remove the 02 sensor to test if there is a restriction. ( leave the 02 connected), just remove it from the exhaust. Tie it up so it does not drag or get caught on anything , and test drive. Mind you it must be a upstream 02 sensor or before the cat if you...

The effect of intake air temp on engine temperature.

Did you use electric fans or the original shroud with a engine driven fan?

The effect of intake air temp on engine temperature.

It was a new unit I purchased when I worked for ADvanced auto parts many moons ago. I had the radiator checked about three years ago by a local radiator shop about three years ago. He claimed he removed the tanks and inspected it( you could tell the tanks had been brazed back on), so I have no...

The effect of intake air temp on engine temperature.

It has a 2500 B&m converter in a 400 trans. I have a trans cooler on it with a temp gauge. It never gets over 180. It will not even stall anywhere near that speed with the low Po engine it has in front of it.;) now with the old 455 that it used to have bolted to it definitely would.

The effect of intake air temp on engine temperature.

I am running 48 degrees total timing with vacuum advance hooked up. All is in by 2500rpm. It's a Gm Goodwrench engine with the factory camshaft, edelbrock performer intake, and Rochester carb. It has a super low compression ratio and 76cc combustion chambers. It's pulling 20 inches of vacuum at...

The effect of intake air temp on engine temperature.

Any suggestions on brand of radiator that is a known quality unit without breaking the bank? I know it's a lot to ask, but I would rather spend my money on family than a car.
