Got thee ol income tax return. Trying not to blow it. We have a 04 grand Cherokee overland. With the 4.7 seriously since I was 16 . Around 15 cars ago I'd never seen a oilpan rot out like this. Literally a pencil could puncture the pan. Just changed the oil and removing the drain plug the whole bottom of the pan was twisting!
Jeep dealer 1. Local Guys Solomon Dodge quoted me $1100.00

Rotolo Dodge was $832.00. + free plugs tune up.

Tom clark Dodge in west mifflin $790.00

Pepboys $640.00

Lenzi service station. $350.00

WTF is with the price variations? Lenzi is already out. Changed my harmonic balancer in a old Ford probe with a sledge and torch. 3 miles later rods were knocking.

Any of these options sound decent? Id do it myself but if anyone has seen a 4.7 in a WJ be lucky to get your wrist in there. Kinda worried pepboys would screw it up. I dunno??

depending on the exhaust studs and condition of the transmission lines it sounds like it a 4-5 hour job

(1) Disconnect negative cable from battery.

(2) Raise vehicle on hoist.

(3) Remove structural cover. Refer to Structural
Cover in this section for procedure.

(4) Remove exhaust systemY-pipe.

(5) Remove starter. Refer to Group 8B, Starting.

(6) Drain engine oil.

(7) Un-clip transmission lines from support on oil
pan stud. Move lines for oil pan clearance.

(8) Remove oil pan bolts and oil pan.

(9) Remove oil pump pickup tube.

(10) Remove oil pan gasket.

I had an 94 Jeep with a few pin holes in the pan. I wasn't planning on changing it so I drained the oil and cleaned the pan, then I laid a few layers of fiberglass over the oil pan. That lasted a few years till I junked the jeep due to electrical issues...

Bosses car. I let a professional do the repairs. The one garage sounded like they're not getting enough business. $832 + free tune up. Since when Chrysler give away plugs and air filter? Thanks though. Took me 5 trips to NAPA 8 MF's and 4 hours to change the 02 sensor. Hate working on it. Lol may downgrade it to work status and buy the wife a Yukon
