Hey All. As many of you know my son's Coppertop wagon was in a bad accident earlier this year. We picked up a complete wagon "parts car" down in AZ earlier this year, but it's almost too nice to cut up and I'm really wanting to build it for a daily as my Pumkinator becomes more of a racer.

Aside from the parts car we've found spare parts for everything but the rear 1/4 panel.

Just putting a line out there. Any chance someone has a passenger side 1/4 panel for a Cutlass or Buick G Body station wagon they'd part with? Malibu/ Pontiac won't work, the body line is different.

Just curious what would you guys do in my shoes?

Thanks!

Ben,
The parts car appears to be pretty clean. I can't blame you for not wanting to part it out.
Hope someone comes up with the 1/4 panel.

The car used to be owned by a younger guy that expressed his own styling in what he named his "Mad Wagon". He later found a 2 door Malibu and swapped the drivetrain from the wagon into the 'Bu. At first I thought he was nuts and ruined a good wagon, but I held my tongue as the build unfolded because I too express my own style in my cars, that's what hot rodding's about. Through giving him words of support instead of being negative we became internet friends and in time when my son's car got wiped out he trusted me to pick up his Mad Wagon for a price that was way more than reasonable. Just goes to show you it's better to make friends than enemies. 🙂

Holy add ons, Batman! That reminds me of a Honda Ridgeline that some old dude had around here. He had towel bars as bed rails, drawer pulls in the grille 50's style, and a bunch of other "junk" on it. There's also a 007'ed out Hyundai CUV-thing out there. Then, there's this

Sometimes people really have way too much time on their hands.

On the way home from work I was thinking about what to do with the "MadWagon" parts car, provided we can fix Coppertop without using it. I like the look of the late 80's silver and gray 442s, but it just wouldn't look aggressive / obnoxious enough. Driving along I was looking at car colors everywhere and imagining different ideas, when it hit me. When I got home I pulled up my artwork for Pumkinator and created a copy that I changed the colors on and here it is. I can use it as a daily driver, tow Pumk to the track with it, and once we get to the track my daughter can race it while I race Pumk and my son races Coppertop. Wouldn't that be just nuts? Three Cutlass wagons showing up to the autocross to play!

The paint scheme is based on how I first painted Pumkinator, except with peanut M&M package yellow instead of white and used the 17x9.5 MBs that used to be on Pumk. 😀
