looking for new tires for my stock 14x6 rims on my 1987 cutlass salon
I will be buying rims and tires next year but need the 14 right now
I have 205/70 14 now but looks a little small
I would like to go maybe a little wider and taller
But don't want to look like I have over inflated balloons
Any pics or comments would be appreciated

I would think a 215/ 70 x 14 or 225/ 70 x 14. With a 6" wide rim you don't want to go too wide...or you can go slightly taller with a 75 series tire. It may not appear as wide, but it would be slightly taller. I think I would go with a 60 series tire.
Nice Cutlass BTW.

Don't forget a 14" rim/ tire combo is going to appear smaller in the wheel wells than a 15"+ wheel tire combination.

Good question! I hope to be doing something similar in the near-future ....

Is your main concern the appearance? Something to consider is with blackwalls the tires are blending-in with the wheelwell, which gives the illusion the wheels are smaller as the chrome is a big contrast to the tire/wheelwell ... maybe same size tire but with raised white letters?

YES APPEARANCE IS NUMBER ONE NEXT YEAR TIRES AND WHEELS BUT THIS YEAR I NEED TO DRIVE AND WITHOUT TIRES IT AINT HAPPENING BUYING BFGOODRICH RADIAL T/A LOOKING AT 225/60-14
For front (24.7")and 225/70-14 for rear (26.5") raised white letter

I think you will be happy with that combo, and wouldn't have a problem selling them on next year if you don't want a spare set....

225/60 gets my vote. I wouldnt be comfortable with anything wider on a 6 inch rim.
I have seen 235 and 245 60s on 14x6s but didnt like the look of the sidewall buldge.
