15% ethanol instead of 10% saves you $$$$

Offset by the oil company adding less octane? No need to spend in excess of requirements.

Maybe add a little extra StaBil if the extra corn will sit in your tank a while.

I don't think any additive that i know of will be compatible with the E15 for our cars. I remember when ethanol first came on the scene it was damaging entire fuel systems

Eats old school lawnmower carbs. I buy 5 gal of 100% gasoline to avoid this problem. It means that my lawnmower and tiller run on 90 octane...

On my gas powered stuff and all 2 strokes that I don't use a lot I go to the local airport and get av gas. I also use synthetic 2 stroke oil. You can go 100;1 mix. I started doing it about 25 years ago when I had my airboat with the 0540 Lycoming aircraft engine. Amazing the difference with them starting right up and no gumming issues. Although the octane is higher I see no performance decrease that would be noticeable in my husky chainsaw.

E__ anything is tough on old school gaskets, hoses, o-rings, etc. I can't speak to all fuel systems, but Holley and Edelbrock have components that are Ethanol compliant. It can be dealt with without big expense.

The political end of this is 'follow the money' as to why we haven't legislated to run E85 in every car in the country for the past 15-20 years. It's much cheaper and easier to support wars for oil rather than putting farmers and domestic businesses to work.

'Half of what you see and none of what you hear' - applies in spades to the populist E85 conversation IMO.

It kinda sucks that this is being highlighted, because I have been getting a good 40-45¢ price break on using E15 in my newer Jeeps. Now I probably won't save any money. Anything built after 2000 or so can run up to E30 without issue, but I don't dare go over E15 in the Bonneville.

I use non-ethanol fuel in my lawnmowers, chainsaws, gas blower, weedwhacker and minibikes.. I also run my wagon and Porsche on non-ethanol fuel. My Olds Ciera and Mercury Capri run on standard ethanol.
