Is anyone running 18" Boss 338 wheels with a C5 brake kit or similar big brake kit on a g-body?

I was told by Boss they may not clear our C5 brakes. However after using a template they think they will... but he thinks they don't.

I just assumed they would until they mentioned it.

I agree on the high prices. We may run the Rushforth's on our '72 LeMans we are building... they are pricey so it is a tough decision.

We are going to run the Boss 338's on our '79 Monte project. The thing we really like about the Boss wheels is they are made in the USA!

I will post some pictures as soon as they are in.

Ryan, saw y'all bought the Boss rims and they seem to fit well. What backspacing did you go with? How about tire size? Did you have to get a shorty valve stem to clear the c5 brakes?

I don't recall any valve stem issues at all. They are are regualr valve stems.

The fronts are 18 x 8 with 4.5" back spacing and 245 tires but we had to run a 1" spacer. I don't think that wheel comes in a 3.5" back spacing. We used longer ARP studs. The rears are 18 x 9.5 with 5" back spacing and 275 tires. We had to roll our fenders though to prevent the tires from cutting under hard load. Also with drum brakes you may need a .250 to .375" spacer on the rear. With disc brakes we ran no spacer.

Hope that helps!
