Hi, looking for some insight, I posted an introduction so I'm new here to the forum and new to G bodies. I have recently picked up a 36 Ford 5 window coupe, the guy I bought the car from wasn't really a car guy and didn't build this car so he wasn't much for help regarding the clip in the front and the rear back half. I was told it all came from a Lemans.
I'm looking for some insight into the suspension and if in fact it is G body. The car has 10.5" rotors on the front, the pitman arm number comes back as a 78-88 G body so that has what led me to believe it's G body, the rear I'm unsure but it does look like G body as the rear spring sits directly above the axle and not in front like early A body.
If someone can confirm the suspension is G body that would help me to determine the next phase of this project regarding the suspension and lowering the car some more.
The front clip is a bit wide for a 36 Ford coupe, though it does fit I'd like the tires to be tucked in the fender a bit more. I don't have the luxury to change wheels as the rims are already skinny on the car so I'd like to narrow the track width by using narrowed control arms, however, I can't seem to find anyone other then Fatman that makes a narrowed control arm for a G body, is there any one making narrowed control arms for G bodies? or is there other control arms that may fit that could narrow the track width?
For the rear I'd like to swap over to a QA1 coil over or maybe Ridetech rear air shocks/springs.
Thanks in advance for any insight here into what's under this 36.
