1976 Buick 350 Buildup. With Pictures!

I guess that's what the inside of a water pump looks like after 10 years of sitting in a barn with fluids still in the engine. Ate a lil hole in the timing cover too.

Cylinder heads. Crackchecked, basic 3 angle valvejob done. Also a lot of exhaust bolts were broken off in these. Also pic of a head after disassembly before being sent off to the machine shop.

New reproduction HEI dizzy from TA Performance along with new rocker arm buttons. Also new AirTex fuel pump.

New 4bbl intake and old 2bbl intake.

Top end off. Remarkably clean on the inside for this high mileage of engine. Cylinder bores (sorry, no pics) were MIRROR smooth, and had a pretty thick ridge. Pretty sure this engine was easily over 100k or more on the clock. All bearings looked good, no weirdness or abnormal wear. Same with cam, cam bearings, and lifters.

That intake is an OEM unit from a '75 350 and believe it or not, was this crusty old blue one. I got lucky, and traded an Xbox for that intake and oil pan. Oh, that reminds me. One of the hardest parts to find for a Buick 350 is an oil pan. All parts stores will sell you is a chevy 350 pan, no one has/makes aftermarket pans. Gotta find a good used one. My original was full of pinholes. Like swiss cheese. Pics included. And ordering from TA has been nothing but good. Really helpful staff everytime I called.
