Yesterday i was in oreillys and the guy behind the counter was telling me about his olds omega he had. Said its been sitting for quite a while but that he would sell it if someone was interested. Got the gears turning. What do you guys think of those cars?

Some of the parts are hard to find, others interchange with a Nova. Depends on what you would do with it, and how much rust it has.

Guys words are its fixable. Gonna go have another talk with him today and try and go look at it. He bought it in 1996 with a blown v6 and said he hasnt done much with it since. Think id just turn it into a mild street car if i got it

Will do, the only thing im worried about is that they are unibody cars and that it would ride like crap. Will probably sell a few of my cars to make room for it if i was to get it so i wouldnt want to downgrade but from what ive seen from pictures of them online the interiors look nice and love the hatchback. Could do without the leaf spring rear though

You do realize that they are pretty much the same as a Camaro/Firebird underneath, right  ? Most of the same tricks apply.

Absolutely. My neighbor used to race a '77 Nova which is basically the same car structurally. He added sub frame connectors to make the car more rigid for racing purposes. I think for a street machine, it's unnecessary. I guess it also depends on how much power you'll be putting under the hood.

I always liked the early 70's Novas and that is still a similar body style and there should be some interchange between the fbodies and other BCP cars.
I was looking at Ventura's, Apollo's and Nova's as well as Omega's as a possible next project car but decided to get another Gbody when the time comes.
I think if it is in decent shape it would make a nice street car and you don't see many around of any year.

I have a 78 Skylark V6. Might give it a 2nd chance

Sounds like the reviews of that sort of car are pretty solid, im going to look at it today so hopefully ill report in tomorrow with some pics and good news. Its just right down the road so if its junk oh well no loss. Hp range that would be going in it would be in the 350 range so not anything huge and powerful. That is unless my 455 will fit
