Dude, you are every bit as bad as me about starting another project before finishing the first  . Being we have fab skills, so what, it's all good. Kick panels look good, I made my own also. Not sure if they're long enough, but I used 2 by 6 rectangular big truck universal taillights purchased from a truck supply store. Grote is a quality brand. If they're not long enough, maybe you could recess them further back with a tapered holding surround to focus all the light through the slot &use some sort of mesh grille behind the light opening. Think that would look badass, & built on our budget.

I,ve started working on mounting my york engine driven air compressor & a 4 gal pancake tank I already have. It's all you fault for making me think about it. :wtf: I,m supposed to be finishing my sheetmetal, uh, I mean doing projects for the wife.

haha yeah man just one thing after the other but i really like that idea with the trailer lights. cuz i was like yeah those would be too small but i deff could make something to recess them. and nice on the bags haha you need to have a build thread or something man

Diggitydawg you gotta post some all around pics of your elco so we can see how it looks all over, please??!?!

thanks guys and ill deff take some pics and a video next time i roll her outside. so i guess the 6th of april there is going to be a big el camino cruise and i need to get my car together. so all i need to do is tailights and relocate the license plate. so im going to put it under the bumper in the middle so i had to make a mount for it that will get welded on and then a light. i also got a nasty new shifter handle and did an intake gasket and valve cover gaskets yesterday. i painted my intake black and regret it now, i dont like the look of it at all.

If that's an aluminum intake you don't like painted boring, I mean black, you need a striper safe for aluminum. Aircraft stripper is just that, hence the name.

Dave V, what you're referring to as a Ford compressor is a York compressor, mine ran air tools on my former work truck for over 8 years, so yeah they are awesome. Only problem is mine feels a little weak & may need a rebuild.I thought about being lazy & just getting an electric compressor, but after hearing a few running seemingly endlessly after startup at a carshow last weekend, no way in hell I wanna listen to all that noise.

Correct on that york compressor i just always went to a junk yard and got a compressor and they work great.... i have one on my dads show truck and his avalanche and they work great runs tools, air up tires after the sand etc...anyhow no way would i want to run them noisy electrics...anyhow good luck with your project.

mounted the plate on and hooked up the light and then i had a great idea for the tailights, why not just use my old ones haha so i welded on studs and put one one. still need to smooth out the tailgate

Good idea on the taillights. They say some of the best things in life are free, or at least already paid for.

While you're at it , you could always buff the old lenses to make em look newer & later upgrade them to a quality brand of led bulbs if you want brighter. Some metal polishes such as white diamond work nice for cleaning up old plastics.
