I was thinking about picking up some 78 tail lights. they would fit on a 79 though wouldnt they?

I got a 78 license plate pocket. its metal. I was like wtf...

been looking for tail lights. some people want way too much for them. If you got some laying around you wanna sell i would be interested.

I got a whole 79 header panel. just in case. (if i didnt say that before)

the 78 tail lights will fit a 79 or 80 but you also have to get the 1/4 panel extension and the side marker lights that are in the 1/4 extensions.
good luck on the 78 tail lights cause they are hard to come by, sorry but mine are not on the market. LOL
took me years to find spare sets.

also the 78 had a different grill than the 79's too

hahah i know what you mean.

Anything you want me to keep my eye out for you guys? Im always on ebay and craigslist looking for parts for our cars.

I almost am about to buy another one just to have for parts.

your best bet for the parts, is ebay, sucks i know.
a few years ago i found an NOS hood ornament and NOS trunk lock emblem and i got both for under $100. Now days your lucky to find an NOS hood ornament under $200 and an NOS truck lock emblem, last one i saw went for $500

dude i know. Im trying to get some tail lights. but they didnt post any pics so im taking a chance.

You know what ive been obessed with on ebay lately. the promo cars. I just bought 3. 2 montes and a car for my bro for xmas

Yeah i have one of those promo cars too, i have a 78 one i got years ago. im still looking for another one

Nice monte man. Mine started out Green on Green as well. I think mine was a different shade of both though, yours looks brighter than mine. But maybe it's just the pictures. I hated the green in mine as well but have come to enjoy it haha.

I'm also in New Hampshire and I've never seen another one driving around, and have only ever seen 1 even on craigslist. They just aren't around. I'm trying to sell mine, and I can't believe how hard a time I've had... Mine's a '78 by the way.

Good luck with the build, looks like a great start!

with the economy being in the crapper, its not hard to see why your having trouble selling your Monte.

I'm looking for the bumper section of the chrome trim that runs around the license plate. Every time I look on ebay all I find is this junk... (sorry for the big link haven't figured out how to make a small one)

Although this may be a good temporary option, I could buy that chrome trim stuff from Napa and would rather have the real deal.

I'll have to get out to this junk yard again, last time I was out there they had like 5 untouched 3rd gens. Maybe you've heard of it online or something, it's called French Lake Auto. I did a photo project out there last year, check it out.

That's just a tease. I didn't get any of the 3rd gen's because most of them were 80% covered in snow at the time, and my main objective was to create a nostalgic looking piece of work hence the last photo, but I also brought my digital camera along to just snap some pictures as I went, hence the old cutlass and the opel GT. This place is filled with old cars, it's pretty insane, and fortunately for me, it seems like a lot of the customers aren't very interested in anything 1970 and newer, most of the g-bodies were untouched.
