1980 El camino rear questions???

hello everyone! i am looking at a 1980 el camino with a hot 350 and a th350 behind it. the only problem is that it has the stock rear. is it the 7.5 or 8.5 10 bolt that came stock? were any of them posi? what other cars had posi that are a direct swap? im looking for a rear that doesnt need spring perches moved or anything like that. i will prob search the junkyard for something. any idea what a posi rear for an el camino would cost? thanks in advance -pat

It could have eather or 7.5 or 8.5 you can identify it by the cover , and yes some came with posi find your rpo sticker and run the codes with a gm dealer to find out what you have.

El camino's 78-87 NEVER came with a 8.5 factory. RPO for a posi is G80

grand nationals/t types and 442s are the only g body cars that I am aware of that came with an 8.5 from the factory.
