^^^Wow. Well said

Well , I dont know about you guys but I barely have put money into my cutlass and I got it with 50,000 Km's All I have done so far was change the brakes and I changed a Thermostate that was stuck open.
One thing for sure with these cars is the shocks and springs go fast haha mine has a littel lean. I wouldnt expect to much money going into a car with 14,000 km.

14,000 kms divided by 31 years= the car has most likely sat for an entire decade at some point between meaningful drive time... 81/82 Monte's are less desirable than the later years, the motor running in tip top stock shape could probably keep up with a 305/307...

If it is completely rust free, motor runs good, transmission shifts, interior is near mint, body is straight & dent free, & it's Exactly what you are looking for????

I would say top dollar in the current market is $5,000-$7,000....and it would have to be absolutely mint! The super Low miles are offset by the fact that it is not a very desirable/collectable model/year...

I mean no disrespect at all, It would be a cool car to own & I Test drove a decent 81 turbo Monte over a decade ago & almost bought it for $900...

I am not in the market, just like looking, & I've seen hundreds of g.bodies that are better deals just this month web searching craigslists all across the country...

If its not advertised for sale I would keep in contact with the owner. At some point they may be willing to sell at a much more agreeable price and hopefully you will get the first shot at it.

The carbed turbos aren't world beaters but this car is still an all original low production car. If keeping and preserving something like that appeals to you take your time and make it happen at a fair price. If you are just looking for something to play with find another car. Of course you could get this car and another car and do both.

The economic downturn that occured in the States was not as severe here in Canada, at least as far as I know. It would be an interesting car to pick up, if it can be bought for the right price. Its definitely worth preserving. As I said before Kewl, if you do get the car, I'd like to see some pics.
