1983/84 hurst/olds with 2.56 open rear?

I read maybe about 5 different articles from various magazines/books on the 1983/84 hurst/olds saying that they all came with 2.56 open carrier rears rather then 3.73 geared rears. Was this all a huge mistake by the writers/reviewers or was that an option?

Yes. Probably a mistake by one and plagiarism by the rest.

But the posi unit was optional (G80) with the 3.73's.

They must have been mistakenly referring to the '79 Hurst/Olds.

All '83-'84 H/O's had 3.73's.

Posi was optional on all.
