thanks guys.
if you want the cragars, their for sale with the tires.

today we reassembled most of the motor. got the heads on, cam in, intake manifold on, valve covers on, oil pan on, distributor in, and oil pump in. we still have a couple bolt ons left for tomorrow, like starter, carb, fuel pump, temp gauge, headers. everything went very smooth. no issues which was great, all the gaskets fit and it was a good productive day. tomorrow im also putting the front 2 tires on, putting the car on the ground to fix some other stuff, then the motor gets joined with the transmission and goes back in. forgot my camera so heres some cell phone pics.

Today we worked on the transmission, and getting it ready to join with the engine. we made a little more progress on the engine, and put the front tires on. the car should be drivable, but not completely finished in about 3 weeks. here are pictures of the car from today.

Today the motor and transmission were finally dropped in! It was a beautiful day out, and everything seemed to go just about right. Before we dropped the motor in, we steam cleaned the engine bay:

We joined the motor with the transmission and hooked it up to the forklift and got it ready to drop in.

Lowering it in was pretty easy, like I said everything seemed to fall into place today, Except for the fact that we forgot to lay the headers in the bay before we bolted the motor in. so it was fun to jack up the motor and maneuver the headers into place, but we got it done. Got the carb on, the air filter, starter, oil filter on and fuel pump.

Tomorrow were going to start the wiring, and fire her up. Then comes a little more welding inside the car, then the interior can be put back in. then the gauges get wired in, and interior wiring gets done. Then the car is being sent to all American muffler for custom exhaust piping, and then paint finally.

had the same thing happen to me with the headers! ha it did suck to realize they just weren't gonna fit so we had to jack the motor back up a lil and squeeze the headers in

haha, yeah it sucked, but it was fairly easy.

Today we filled the motor up with fluids, and tried to start it up with open headers. It didn’t seem to spark correctly n we couldn’t fire it up today. Its getting good compression, air, and fuel, so we think its an ignition problem possibly the timing of the cam? The carb is blowing, and not sucking. The first video is basically al that we heard today, and the second one is after we tried adding ether  but all it did was almost give me a heart attack..

yup, we checked the distributor several different times, and we re-routed the wires several times too, thats why we think its the cam timing.

Today we got the motor running. We took the water pump and timing cover off to realize that the problem was that we installed the cam according to the circle not the triangle. So we switched that up, put it back together, and it started right up. The motor has GREAT compression, and runs awesome.
