I’ve got an ‘84 Monte Carlo with power windows. The up/down switch on the driver door for the passenger window works backwards. Up=down. Down=up. The up/down for the driver window and the up/down on the passenger side work as they should. Has anyone else run into this? Thanks in advance!

I don't recall if the electrical plugs can be connected to the switch backwards or not but that's my first guess. Wiring that's been cut and reconnected incorrectly also comes to mind.

PS, welcome to the forum!

Likely just got put in upside down, I actually did that with my passenger side. I've been too lazy to go back and flip it around but figure I will fix it when I do the mirror stuff to it

I couldn't remember if the switches had words on them or not.

This was what I thought too. But it’s a double switch on the driver side. The driver window works as it should while the passenger side doesn’t. Part of the same assembly. 🤔

I’ll look for crossed wires. Also, the passenger side window doesn’t work from the driver side unless the switch on the passenger side is plugged in. So, it’s wired through that switch. I can swap wires around in that switch. I just have to pin it out and try it. Will report back.
