lansing, mi
so my 84 regal starts up just fine but it stalls out if you let it idle... i put on a new carb, new distributor cap, new ignition coil, new choke. what might make it not want to idle? is this a common problem for the V6 in this particular car?

since the carb is new it probably needs an adjustment....other than that is your timing set properly?

Vacuum leak will do that, also.
Good idea to check all vacuum hoses and connections.

got it figured out! it was a bad base plate gasket. apparently even a small leak like that can make a motor run like crap. and since they dont make those gaskets anymore i just bought a sheet of gasket material and cut my own and its running smoother than ever

Congrats!
Yes, they HATE vacuum leaks!
