—— Oldsmobile Cutlass — ——- Pro Touring Hurst/Olds tribute car ——
*** 5 Speed MANUAL STICK SHIFT transmission
350 Small Block Chevy
This car is turn key and ready to go, needs absolutely nothing but a driver.
This was over a year long decision of back and forth with myself on selling this car. I absolutely love this car and have owned for 26 years. I built this car with having intentions of keeping this car until I die. It just seems that I drive it less and less each year as I have too many nice weather only cars. I just recently built my dream truck and just have way too many hot rods and decided between 3 of my other cars which one to sell. This is a very difficult and hard decision. In the last 26 years of ownership, I was the sole person ever behind the wheel. I never let ANYONE drive it ever, let alone even sit behind the wheel. The interior looks brand new, mainly because it is. Every gas fill up I run 1 oz of marvel mystery oil per 5 gallons of gas to keep the top end lubed and carburetor clean from ethonal damage (you don’t have to do this at all, I do it on all my cars for preventative maintenance)
It started life as a 1986 Cutlass Supreme with a 307, auto. It’s Now with a Chevy 350 and T-5 5 speed manual and 87 Grand National Posi rear with 3.42 gears. This car has no seen ANY SALT OR RAIN IN 26 years.(with the exception of a few times the weather was predicted wrong and got caught in a rain storm). It has been stored in a garage almost its entire life and it shows as this car is 100% and always has been ZERO RUST! The doors, fenders , floors, quarters , roof, etc s all the original metal the car left the factory with. Yes, that means there is no metal patch work done as it was always a rust free car. Sure you can buy another G body fully restored that’s had new floors and fender and the roof skin replaced, but what’s it going to look like 5 years from now if the repair work was done half assed and starts to rust again.?? The frame mounting holes are all known to rot out where the body bushings go, not to mention the body bolts snap off when you remove them… Not the case with this car, all body bolts came right out and the fame is perfect, just another example to show it was garaged practically its whole life, and it was goo indication it didn’t see snow it’s whole life due to no rust, rot or surface rust when I got it. It was painted in 2003 to tribute a 1984 Hurst/Olds, but unlike a Hurst/Olds, this one has power to back it and instead of 3 lighting sticks )+ has 3 pedals which is 1000 times cooler.
Just look at the dashboard…where do you ever see a crack free original dash on any G body car?. This car is always in the garage when not moving and when it is parked at its destination, I ALWAYS use a sunshade blocker on the dash, Regardless if it’s sunny or not.
This is a one of a kind car, being a 5 speed stick shift, as they never made a G body in stick. All the parts made to use it stick are all parts you can buy at the local parts store. The heat and Air conditioning work great and the Ac will cool down to 30’s degrees.
It runs , drives and rides like a new car. It doesn’t ride like a lowered car and handles like it’s on rails due to all the performance suspension upgrades. This car turns heads everywhere it goes and always stricks a conversation while getting gas at the gas station . No sagging doors, when you open the doors, tight zero play hinges
I pulled the engine and transmission out of the car over this past summer due to a tiny oil leak and while it was out, I repainted and re-gasketed the whole engine.
I changed the oil every 10-12 months, regardless how many miles are on it, (it’s never seen more than 600 miles on a oil change in the last 26 years) Brake fluid I flush every 2 years regardless of miles, antifreeze I do every 4 years, and rear end gear oil and transmission fluid I do every 3 years regardless of miles .
Fly in and drive this car ANYWHERE in the country . I would drive this to California without hesitation, it gets just over 22 MPG on the highway thanks to the 5 speed overdrive transmission and 3.42 gears
