OK, so looking for a nice setup recommendation for upgrading the stock turbo on my 1987 GN.

Would like opinions on the full package:
Turbo
Fuel Injectors
Fuel Pump
Chip
Tune
& What am I missing?

Thanks

Guess it really depends on your goals.

Street, Race Track, Pro Touring, etc

*small DBB turbo like Precision 5858 with S ported shroud
* 60# or 80# injectors
*LS1 or LT1 MAF & translator
* adjustable fuel pressure regulator (I like Kirban’s)
*adjustable wastegate actuator (low boost / high boost)
*Razor’s Alky kit
* TurboTweak chip matched for your set up
*RJC or TA Performance 3” down pipe
*pypes 2-1/2” exhaust system (race pro mufflers)
*scanmaster & powerogger
*RJC air distribution plate

It's 2022... Full-time closed loop EFI or nothing. Chips, PL, ScanMaster, etc are very antiquated tech. Yes, I know there have been some updates to them: but, to what appreciable benefit? Keeping the OEM computer is an exercise in futility. A new EFI system improves reliability, accuracy, flexibility and growth potential.

The rest is basic recipe stuff relative to power goals. Which are?

Thanks much for the info, and yes...I missed a key point: My Goals.

Really just want a high-11s -- low-12s street car that I can drive "daily". Just a little quicker than stock, but reliable (as much as a 35yr old car can be) enough to drive often.

Not sure exactly what that translates to in horsepower? ~350hp or so? Probably won't go to the track much, other than some basic metrics for tuning, etc.

Again, thanks much for the info (and patience), I'm looking forward to starting this project.

OK, so while I'm bugging everyone. A friend of mine passed away and I bought this car from the family. He was quite the mad scientist when it came to cars, and I have NO idea of what all he did to the car. I've parked side by side with a "stock" GN to compare, and looked at several pictures online. I just can't get it all to line up. Attached are under hood pictures of mine.

Any advice on what he may have added, removed, modified would be very much appreciated. Obviously everything needs cleaning...As I said, just getting started.
