Re: pic of the 88 monte ss

I love the look and size of the wheels but would need drag radials on the back if it were one of mine. But I am sick that way my chit has to be as fast as it looks. I dig the buckets to but why two tachs?

yea mine will be faster once i get the new engine it sittin right now cause the fan belt snapped and i overheated really bad and now my compresstion is off like a **** so it runs like sh*t so im putin the 290hp 350 crate engine in over the winter.and for the 2 tachs, the only gauges that work in the cluster are the gas and speedo.and i had the other tach sittin on a shelf for awhile so i put it in.

Nice ride! I may be a lil biased but I like the rims, lol. Those in black chrome may be next set.

That gets expensive quick though, if you actually drive it.

Re: pic of the 88 monte ss

It could get somewhat expensive useing drag radials if you have a g that you put a ton of miles on. But if you have a fast street gbody say a 12 second or quicker car it may be daily driver capable but is probably not your main driver. In my case I got three summers out of one set and two out of the other which was an acceptable cost compared to being a half second slower and potentially being shown the tail lights of a much slower car. M&H has a 275/45/18 drag radial that would be killer. I had a set of M&Hs in the same height & section width on my Cutty in a 275/60/15. Not sure what Nitto, M&T, Hoosier or BFG has in the 18s.

Oh yea can't think of the site name but their is another gbody site that shows with excellent pics & description how to clean & fix the ralley guage cluster so that it works like new again. Its actually fairly easy and usually cost nothing. Maybe somebody can post it.

Mine was a daily driver, but only 10 miles each wat to work. Still barely managed to get a summer out of them. I think total mileage was under 3k. This was on the BFG's i just mounted up again.

Re: pic of the 88 monte ss

Yea Im not a fan of the BFG drag radials. Wear fast and pull over if you get stuck in any rain. I got about 12,000 out of the Nittos & over 7,000 out of the M&Hs but burned them up as oppossed to wearing them out.
