Will a 2" hood give me enough room for a decent intake setup or will I need a 4"? Mostly looking at maybe a performer rpm and Holley carb. Possibly a 1" spacer.
2" or 4" cowl hood for BBC swap into 80 malibu

With a 4150 carb and a drop base air cleaner you should have room with the 2" cowl, if there are any plans on going big enough to require a 4500 carb then a 4" cowl is required. What kind of spacer are you looking at?
I have a 2 inch cowl on mine with a 1.5ish inch spacer rpm air gap and 4150 style carb with a drop base.
Ok thanks. Nothing special for a spacer. Just more in case i need to raise the carb up for vacuum fitting space. Usually the Holley bowl overhangs the manifold runner port. 1" is all I'd use.
