never seen or used those before, but the brake lines should be ok I've lifted g-bodies 4 inches with out any brake line issues in the rear, now the front would be a different store because the calipers move further away from the frame when you turn but the line in the rear is in the center of the of the rearend

are those

the same as the ones they put on your springs so they dont spring so much, they lifted my car up 2.5 inches yesterday so the exhaust wont hit the rear end, its a long story and i dont wanna get into it. the good news is my cars exhaust is fine now.

I have no intentions of lifting the front. My rear sits a little low for my likeings so I figured I'd look into spacers. Did the rear springs come out without a hitch or did you have to break out a spring suppressing tool to get the spacers in?

rear springs are easy.

Jack up the car and put it on jackstands just in front of the rear wheels to let the axle hang free. All that's holding your axle from dropping down further is the shocks. Now bring your jack back around and put under the centre section to take the weight off and un bolt your shocks from the bottom. If you can't pull the spring out at that point I like to use a good 2 x 4 x 8' ( but any length will do ). Place the lumber over the rear wheel and under the frame and pry the axle down and the spring should basically fall out. Replace/ re-work your springs and re-install. Shouldn't take you and a helper much longer than 30 mins.

THe

ones i had put on are different, they just put the car on the hoist, and put these shackle type things between the rings of the spring. That way they cant compress nearly as much, works like a charm though. Ill be upgrading my shocks and springs shortly, but bodywork is coming in 3 weeks.

air shocks are a way easier deal..........and you can lower them when ya wanna fly around some corners. if your replacing your springs anyways go with a stiffer spring (salon/ 442 spring) and do the shocks at the same time. cost is equal to gas type, and air COULD have been a factory option. they go 200 lbs max......that will give ya about 2 inches lift

peace
