As part of my 82 montes rebuild I performed a 200 4r trans swap and installed a B&M shift kit. I have noticed the every time I have diven the car that the transmission leaks (alot) form the front bell housing. It does not leak however when the car is running. I have not wired up the lock up yet because the car had a th 350 previously. I am guessing that its a front seal for the torque converter but am not 100% sure. Is it at all possible that this problem may be caused by my lock up not being hooked up yet? what should i do.

personally i would replace the seal and see if that fixes the problem... if it doesn't well then at least you know what you got but i would deffinatly say thats were your problem is!
