i am almost ready to drop my 355 chevy (yea yea, a chevy. orignal motor was removed before i got it) into my 442 with the original 200r4, objective number one is i need to get this car to the court house so i can get it inspected so i can get it put in my name, has to be driven to get it done so does the lockup even need to be connected to drive it? number 2 in order to make the lock up work what should i do? i have seen the 15 dollar kits on ebay and also the 180 dollar ones that have some type of controller on them, i am cluesless on this one since i am use to th350 trannys, 2 of 3 of my cars will have 200r4s so i need to figure this out asap. thanks!

you can drive it without the lockup. Try to stay off the highway until you do. The cheapie kits use a toggle which you have to remember to turn on and off. The expensive kits do this for you. I am cheap so I use a toggle switch when on the highway.
you can drive without the TCC lockup. but you can make your own kit. all you really need to do is provide power and ground to the TCC solenoid in the trans. but the power need to be interrupted when you step on the brakes so it immediately unlocks.

how about one like this, i have also seen them cheaper but they use a presure sensor to control it
